赤いレンガづくりの見事な水路橋。かつて京田辺市には、大谷川、虚空蔵谷川、手原川、天津神川、馬坂川、防賀川、普賢寺川、遠藤川の八本の天井川があった。今ではさまざまな改修工事・宅地開発により、天津神川、馬坂川、防賀川の三本だけが残っている。 この水路橋の下を列車が通過し、トンネルのようになっており、通称「マンボ」と呼ばれている。語源が何に由来するかは分かっていない。田辺小学校東側の線路に架かるマンボは三つのトンネルがあるためか「ミツマンボ」と呼び、親しまれている。

Bougagawa Manbo
"This red-brick aqueduct was once part of eight over-head rivers in Kyotanabe. Now only three are left. They have been nicknamed ""Manbo"" although it is not clear why. This manbo has train lines running under its triple arches. The origin of word is unknown. Manbo over the railroad in the east of Tanabe Elementary School is called Mitsumanbo, because it has 3 tunnels."
