ある時、神功皇后の一行が旅の途中に訪れ、皇后はこの池の水で髪を洗い信託を受け、帰りにも立ち寄ることを約束した。そして皇后が約束を破ることなく帰路の途中に立ち寄ったので、この池は“不違の池”と呼ばれるようになった。 池の側には、皇后が腰掛けたとされる「御床の石（通称とこいし）」が今もあり、遠征の酒盛りをしたときの盃の跡が、５?６ほど残っている。 またこの石には別の話も。昔、淀藩の殿様がこのあたりを馬で通ると必ず落馬してしまうのを、「御床の石」に原因があるとして腹を立て、池中に沈めてしまった。近年になり石は池から取り出され、現在のように置かれている。

Tagawazu lake
"The party of Empress Jinguu stopped over here. The empress washed her hair and be entrusted, then she promised she would call in here again. Finally, she called in here fulfilling her promise. So this lake is called ""Tagawazu""(Not breaking promises). ""Tokoishi"" stone which the empress was seated is still nere the lake. Sake cups which used in the expedition are also still kept."
