碑隠 昭和四十九年三月建立 田辺町文化財保護委員会 和銅4年に「山本駅」が設けられ、ここから船で木津川を渡り宇治田原を経て、瀬田へ通じる交通の要衝であった。古い歴史をもつ渡しであった。 （田辺町近代誌より） 玉水橋から堤防を南に入っていくところにある。

Yamamoto ferry site
"In 711, ""Yamamoto station"" had been founded. It was the key of traffic, so from this station, people colud go to Seta through Kizu river and Uji-Tawara. It had been the old ferry which has long histry. It is located at south of wall of Tamamizu bridge."
